Msomi Attorneys was formed in 2010 by Xolani Msomi, a legal practitioner and an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa. Uniquely positioned as a pioneering commercial legal practice, the firm is a medium-size business with significant capacity through a network of associates, giving sizable influence in various fields of law throughout the Republic of South Africa. The firm’s client base includes individuals, local and national companies across a broad range of sectors, ranging from emerging business to public sector organisations.

Over the past 16 years, Mr Xolani Msomi has collaborated with private law firms through litigation and mediation to successfully recover multi-millionrands of creditor’s monies in the insolvency enquires. This includes about 14000 matters of Trust, Curators, Insolvency, and Guardian Funds Deceased Estate being distributed to the rightful heirs.
Other matters he successfully finalised include the following
Presided over Swifambo matter: Transnet vs. Swifambo Rail Agency
(Pty) Ltd - dispute over the legitimacy of a claim to the amount of more than
R2.3 billion.
Presided over coal transportation dispute of a claim of about R1.6
Billion at Mpumalanga Province
Presided over an enquiry of Ngululu Bulk Carriers (Pty) Ltd -
claims wealth over R55 millions of creditors’ monies unaccounted for.
Presided over an enquiry of Liquidated Pipeline Technologies (Pty)
Ltd - Creditors claimed over R50 million for Nigeria Contracts that did not
materialized.
Mediated and presided over matters involving Farm Owners, workers
and families who resided in farms.
Presided over various insolvency enquiries of the Mpumalanga
Masters Office.
Led the team in the distribution of assets of more than R900
million to creditors in matter of liquidated Incredible Solutions SA (Pty) Ltd.
Further monitored the work and administration of Business Rescue.
Formulated Risk Analysis Framework for the Masters Office at
Mpumalanga Province.
Member of Master’s
panel that formulated Framework for Insolvency Sector. The framework was aimed
at simplifying the insolvency process to make it accessible to the previously
disadvantaged people, particularly; blacks, woman, Indians and Colored people.
